Creamed carrots

- 1 Peel and slice carrots.
- 2 Cook, covered, in a small amount of water over medium heat until tender. Drain.
- 3 In a medium size skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat.
- 4 Sauté onions in butter until tender.
- 5 Stir in flour, salt, pepper and sugar; cook for 1 minute.
- 6 Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and starts to boil.
- 7 Pour over cooked carrots and stir to coat.
